How to use an audio guide in Athens

Tell it you're in Athens. It plans a route, narrates the stones under your feet, and answers whatever you ask along the way.

Athens rewards people who ask questions. A fixed museum wand covers one building - Any Audio Guide covers the walk you're actually taking.

The Acropolis is only the opening line. The Agora still holds the shape of a marketplace, Plaka lanes fold into Anafiotika, and a museum room can steal an afternoon if you let it.

You're not picking from a catalogue of pre-written city tours. Column is the beacon; Any Audio Guide is a knowledgeable friend for the trip - you speak or type where you're headed and the guide shapes a narrated route around what you care to see.

Use this page to picture the rhythm. Then download the Android app, create a tour, and let Athens answer you out loud.

Ask anything

What to ask the guide

Point at a doorway, a hillside, a dish on a menu. Try questions like these - or invent your own. The answer folds back into the tour it's writing for you.

? Approach the Acropolis - what should I notice on the climb?

? Who rebuilt this after the Persian sack - and what did they leave unfinished?

? Compare the Agora with what I've already seen today.

? Share a legend about this spot - mark folklore versus evidence.

? I have ninety minutes before the museum - what's worth the detour?

? Explain this frieze like I'm smart but tired.

Route on the map

In the app, your Athens tour is a walkable route - not a pin list bolted onto a chat thread. The Map tab shows stops and legs for the day, with traffic-aware timing when roads matter and travel modes that match how you move: walk the historic centre, ride when the heat wins, open a full navigation app when you need turn-by-turn.

Route to next highlights the leg ahead so you keep the story and the logistics in one place. When you're ready to leave a stop, you're not hunting for a separate maps bookmark - the guide that talks also gets you there.
